Die European Broadcasting Union (EBU) startet eine neue TV-Talentshow f\u00fcr Amateurch\u00f6re, den \u201eEurovision Choir of the Year\u201c, als Erg\u00e4nzung zu der Eurovision Event-Serie, zu der auch der bekannte Eurovision Song Contest geh\u00f6rt.<\/p>\n

Bei einer Pressekonferenz in der Lettischen Nationalbibliothek wurde das Projekt am 27. Februar der \u00d6ffentlichkeit pr\u00e4sentiert, bei der Vertreter der vier Parteien \u2013 EBU, LTV, LIVE RIGA und INTERKULTUR \u2013 die Details der Zusammenarbeit verk\u00fcndeten.<\/p>\n

Die erste Ausgabe des \u201eEurovision Choir of the Year<\/strong>\u201c wird vom Lettischen Fernsehen (LTV) und dem Tourismusb\u00fcro Riga (LIVE RIGA) als Ausrichter am 22. Juli in der Arena Riga in der lettischen Hauptstadt produziert.<\/p>\n

In der Show k\u00e4mpfen Ch\u00f6re aus 7 EBU Mitgliedstaaten (\u00d6sterreich, Belgien, D\u00e4nemark, Estland, Lettland, Deutschland und Slowenien) um den Titel und die Preise. Zu gewinnen gibt es f\u00fcr den Siegerchor unter anderem einen Plattenvertrag.<\/p>\n

Jeder Chor singt ein sechs Minuten langes Programm ohne Begleitung und wird dabei von einer prominenten Jury bewertet, die unter anderem mit dem britischen Komponisten John Rutter<\/strong> und die lettische Mezzosopranistin El\u012bna Garan\u010da.<\/p>\n

Moderiert wird die Show von Grammy-Gewinner und Komponist Eric Whitacre<\/strong> und LTV Kulturmoderatorin Eva Ikstena<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201eSingen im Chor ist gesund, sozial und eine k\u00fcnstlerische Aktivit\u00e4t, an der jeder, ob jung oder alt, musikalisch erfahren oder nicht, teilnehmen kann \u2013 und die weltweit immer beliebter wird\u201c, sagte Jon Ola Sand, EBU-Direktor f\u00fcr Live Events. \u201eEurovision Choir of the Year wird die riesigen M\u00f6glichkeiten der menschlichen Stimme pr\u00e4sentieren und verfolgt das Ziel, neue S\u00e4nger zum Mitmachen zu begeistern.\u201c<\/p>\n

Eurovision Choir of the Year wird im Rahmen der European Choir Games in Riga stattfinden, die INTERKULTUR in Zusammenarbeit mit LIVE Riga organisiert.<\/p>\n

INTERKULTUR-Pr\u00e4sident G\u00fcnter Titsch zeigte sich \u00fcber die Zusammenarbeit f\u00fcr das neue TV-Projekt ebenfalls sehr erfreut: \u201eWir haben in den letzten Jahren beobachtet, dass sich die Chormusik wachsender Beliebtheit erfreut und wir sind sehr gl\u00fccklich, als Partner bei diesem neuen TV-Format dabei zu sein, welches die Freude am gemeinsamen Singen einem breiten Publikum n\u00e4herbringt.\u201c<\/p>\n

Die EBU und INTERKULTUR hoffen, die Partnerschaft bei einer k\u00fcnftigen Ausgabe der European Choir Games oder World Choir Games fortzuf\u00fchren und ein neues j\u00e4hrliches Format zu schaffen.<\/p>\n

Riga war bereits Gastgeberstadt f\u00fcr die World Choir Games 2014, LTV hat w\u00e4hrend der Veranstaltung einige sehr erfolgreiche Produktionen gezeigt. Eurovision Choir of the Year ist Teil des Grand Prix of Nations<\/a> & 3. European Choir Games Riga 2017<\/a>, die vom 16.-23. Juli 2017 in Riga stattfinden.<\/p>\n

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) launches a new TV talent competition format for amateur choirs, Eurovision Choir of the Year, as an addition to the Eurovision Family of Events led by the well-known Eurovision Song Contest.<\/p>

At a press conference on February 27 in the Latvian National Library in Riga the project was presented to the public. Representatives of all parties involved \u2013 EBU, LTV, Live Riga and INTERKULTUR \u2013 announced details of the cooperation.<\/p>

The first edition of Eurovision Choir of the Year<\/b> will be produced by host broadcaster Latvian Television (LTV) and Riga Tourism Development Bureau (LIVE RIGA) on 22 July at the Riga Arena in the Latvian capital.<\/p>

Choirs from 7 EBU Member countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Germany and Slovenia) will compete for the title, with prizes including a recording deal for the winning choir.<\/p>

Each choir will perform a six minute unaccompanied set in any genre and will be judged by a high-profile jury including British composer John Rutter <\/b>and Latvian Mezzo soprano El\u012bna Garan\u010da.<\/p>

The show will be hosted by Grammy-winning composer and conductor Eric Whitacre<\/b> and LTV culture presenter Eva Ikstena<\/b>.<\/p>

\u201cSinging in choirs is a healthy, social and artistic activity that anyone, young or old, musically experienced or not, can take part in - and one which is growing in popularity across the world,\u201d said EBU Head of Live Events Jon Ola Sand. \u201cEurovision Choir of the Year will showcase the vast possibilities of the human voice and aims to inspire new singers to get involved.\u201d<\/p>

Eurovision Choir of the Year will take place within the leading international competition European Choir Games, operated by Interkultur and organized in collaboration with LIVE RIGA.<\/p>

INTERKULTUR President G\u00fcnter Titsch is excited by the co-operation for the new TV project: \u201cWe have seen a huge rise in popularity in choral singing over recent years and we\u2019re delighted to partner with this new TV format which will bring the joy of singing together to a wide audience.\u201d<\/p>

The EBU and INTERKULTUR hope to continue the partnership within a future edition of the European Choir Games and World Choir Games, creating a new annual format.<\/p>
